About us
The Criminal Justice Alliance (formerly
the Penal Affairs Consortium) is a coalition of organisations committed
to improving the criminal justice system. It has 50 members, including
voluntary sector service providers, campaigning organisations, staff
associations and trade unions, bringing together a wide range of organisations
with the potential to influence policy and practice in the criminal
justice system.
The Criminal Justice Alliance provides
the focal point of a network for its members. It disseminates information,
organises meetings, and supports its members to work together. The Criminal
Justice Alliance is also leading, in conjunction with its members, a
campaign to end prison overcrowding and prison overuse.
