Since stepping into the role of Director at the Criminal Justice Alliance just a few weeks ago, I’ve spent much of my time in ‘listening mode’.
I want to start by saying a huge thank you for the incredible warmth and support I’ve already received. From insightful introductory calls to helpful advice from the staff team, Trustees, members of our ELEVATE alumni and colleagues across the sector. Everyone’s generosity and thoughtfulness have made my transition an enjoyable one.
The Criminal Justice Alliance isn’t just one organisation; we are a powerful collective of over 200 members spanning all parts of the criminal justice system. This includes colleagues with lived and professional experience, charities, academics, and legal experts, many of whom sit across more than one of these spaces.
Having worked in the criminal justice voluntary sector for nearly 15 years, I know exactly how special this community is. There is a specific kind of resilience, passion, and collaborative spirit found here, and it is a privilege to now lead an alliance that represents such vital work.
The importance of our alliance:
To advocate for systemic change effectively, we need to know exactly who stands behind us. Our diversity is our greatest asset, but with a network of over 200 organisations, it is more important than ever that we truly understand the breadth of expertise and perspectives you each bring.
That is why today, I am launching our 2026 Member Survey.
- What we’re asking: We want to hear about your organisation’s core focus, the communities you serve, and why you are a member of our alliance.
- Time commitment: It should take no more than 10 minutes to complete.
- Deadline: Please share your thoughts by 11:59pm, Sunday 19th April
