Are you a charity trustee or CEO? Are you ready to drive positive change by welcoming individuals who have been directly impacted by the criminal justice system into your board meetings?
If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you.
ELEVATE CJS is a groundbreaking programme led by the Criminal Justice Alliance. We support 16 leaders who have been personally impacted by the criminal justice system, whether through encounters with police, time spent in prison, or even being victims of crime. We empower these leaders and showcase the benefits of board membership as another route to leadership.
We are looking for up to 8 forward-thinking boards that are open to having at least one of their board meetings observed. We are proposing a cohort model, where 2-3 ELEVATE participants will observe your board meeting.
Additionally, we are looking for a dedicated board member willing to mentor this cohort. As a mentor, you’ll offer guidance and support, sharing your expertise and helping them navigate the intricacies of board leadership. This mentorship opportunity will require up to 5 hours of your time from June to December 2023. .
If you’re a CEO who believes your board could benefit from this unique perspective, or a trustee willing to be a board mentor, reach out to us. Express your interest by filling out this short form. Please apply by Monday 5 June.
Please be aware that we have scheduled the following sessions, which we kindly ask you to make note of:
June 13, 2023 – 12-1pm
Shortlisted charities/trustees will be invited to an online induction and information session
October 4, 2023 – 7-9pm (optional)
You will have the opportunity to meet the cohort who might be shadowing you, providing a chance to share more about yourself and your organisation
